Privacy policy

Last updated: 5 October 2026

IMX Code is built to need as little data as possible. In short: what you type and the images you choose never leave your device, the site sets no cookies, and the only measurement we do is anonymous and hosted in the EU.

Your content stays on your device

The QR code is generated entirely in your browser. The links, texts and images you use are not uploaded, not sent to us and not sent to any third party, and they are not part of any statistics. Once you close the page, they are gone.

What is stored in your browser

IMX Code sets no cookies. It only remembers your language choice in your browser’s local storage (key “imx-lang”), so that the language suggestion does not come back after you have answered it. This value stays on your device and is never sent anywhere. You can clear it at any time in your browser settings.

Hosting

The site is served by Cloudflare. To deliver and protect the site, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address and request details, under its own privacy policy. The site loads no fonts, scripts or images from any other company.

Analytics

To understand how many people use the site, we run Umami, an open-source analytics tool that we host ourselves on a server in the European Union. It uses no cookies and does not store your IP address in its database. It records only anonymous page views with general information such as the page visited, the referring site, your browser and operating system, screen size, language and country. It also counts how the site is used: which buttons are clicked (for example “Download PNG”), which frame style is selected and whether it was chosen by hand or recognised from the site named in your link, and when the preview is right-clicked. These events never include the links, texts or images you enter. This data is not shared with anyone, not sold, and not used for advertising or to follow you across sites. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in knowing how the site is used (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).

About Umami

Your rights

Because the data described above cannot identify you, there is generally nothing we could link to you. Under the GDPR you nevertheless have the right of access, rectification, erasure and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with an updated date.
